NORMAL FIRST AID KIT SUPPLIES
Having an emergency kit is crucial for handling various emergency situations such as power outages, blizzards, or disasters. Your emergency kit should include essential items like a battery-powered radio, flashlight, extra batteries, first aid supplies, medications, water, non-perishable food, and blankets. Ensuring you have the right supplies in your first-aid kit is equally important. While a special certification is not necessary, having the proper supplies and education is essential for providing effective first aid.
First aid supplies are readily available and can be obtained at many convenience and grocery stores. First aid kits can come pre-packed with supplies or you can make your own tailored kit at-home. First aid kits can and should be tailored to the your activities and preferences. Below is an example of some of the possible contents of a commercially available first aid kit:
Adhesive bandage
Adhesive tape
Antibiotic
Antiseptic
First aid guidebook
Hand sanitizer
Latex gloves
Razor
Roller bandages (2 and 4 inch)
Scissors
Sterile pad
Additionally, you might find more advanced items such as:
Burn dressing & treatment
Cold pack
Face mask & goggles
Splint
Tourniquet
Triangular bandage
Trauma pad
Including prescription medications and extra batteries in your first aid kit is crucial for managing emergencies and ensuring devices like flashlights and radios remain operational during power outages.
